Hey yall! I’m Vai and I am a longboarder from Tahiti. I started surfing at the age of 16 so I am (kind of) a mid-late bloomer when it comes to surfing. I started shortboarding and a year later I discovered longboarding and that was it, I never went back! I really stuggled to find tips and advice on longboarding “back in the days” so improving my surfing took me a looong time, let alone the fact that Tahiti is not known for small and mellow waves. I had to figure it all out by myself so I am here to save you some time on the process! Through longboard retreats I hosted in Morocco and Lombok, I’ve found a great community and connected with so many amazing humans. Surfing is way more fun when shared! To me, sharing and uplifting each other is what surfing is all about. So if you’re looking to improve your surfing and have some fun on the waves, I’m the greatest cheerleader you can find! I am a lifestyle photographer from London who has been shooting professionally for the last 10 years.

I’m very lucky that my travel photography has taken me all over the world and has recently moved me into the surf world. Combining my passion for photography and surfing has been life-changing; it brings me so much joy to be able to capture a sport that I love through a lifestyle lens.

 I spent the first part of this year surfing in Sri Lanka, Lombok & Nicaragua, and nothing makes me happier than surfing with women, and it is where I have met some of my best friends.

Hi everyone, Ines here from Surf Birds Collective! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be putting together this awesome girls-only surf trip in Nicaragua in partnership with Hide & Seek, Issy Croker and Vai Miti :) 

I’ve been quite lucky to spend a good chunk of my time in the solace of remote line-ups and exploring the many coasts of our lands. I also share my passion for connecting people and celebrating female surfing through hosting girls' surf trips, workshops, and events under the Surf Birds Collective. I recently just returned from hosting a surf + coach girls' trip in the Maldives, and seeing the group improve and progress, push barriers, and create new bonds and memories is what rows my boat every day.

I will be your surfer-at-hand in and out of the water, getting us ready for heaps of good times, - count on me!
